Chris Carr
Over the course of Chris’ ~ 25 years of retail operations, franchisee development, marketing, financial management and strategic/corporate planning, Chris Carr has established a proven track record in developing leaders and implementing retail strategies and operational improvements initiatives to improve company’s bottom-line profitability. Chris has been instrumental in developing and implementing initiatives that enhance business unit processes, systems and behaviors, resulting in improved financial performance in operating income, company valuation, brand reputation and consumer shopper programs. Additionally, he has successfully operated in a wide variety of business units, involving multi-state and multi-unit sales management positions and has planned and implemented several revenue enhancement & cost efficiency projects, as well as being responsible for the development of several turnaround and restructuring organizational initiatives. His career has been dedicated to developing people, establishing strategic plans to meet business objectives, elevating the buying experience for customers and establishing operationally relevant solutions that enhance corporate profits.
Chris is currently the General Manager and Senior Vice President for ~ 4000 US licensed stores for Starbucks Coffee Company. Chris and his staff focus on expanding Starbucks business development efforts with Target, Grocery Stores, Casinos, Airports, and HM Host Inc. nationwide. Chris was previously the Senior Vice President, West Sunbelt Division for Starbucks Coffee Company whereby he contributed to the development of the Starbucks brand in the Northwest, West, Southwest and Southeast states of North America. Chris oversaw ~ 4500 Company operated stores which generated approximately $3.5 Billion in revenue in 2009.
Prior to joining Starbucks in 2006, Chris spent 18 years with Exxon Mobil Corporation in various management assignment. He most recently served as the Western Regional Manager for ExxonMobil’s Company Operated Retail Stores (generating $1.5 Billion annually), where he played a pivotal role in developing, coordinating and executing marketing strategies, profit improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance of ExxonMobil’s operational integrity management systems.
A native of Los Angeles, CA, Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and a Master of Business Administration degree from the New York Institute of Technology. He also serves on the board of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
